Matthew Balaguer's Bio
Dr. Balaguer earned his dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and Economics from Dartmouth College and his PhD in Clinical Psychology from George Washington University. Throughout his training and professional career, Dr. Balaguer has worked with the Veterans Administration, various community health organizations, and most recently with Denver Health. In addition to his professional career, Dr. Balaguer is married, has two cats, and enjoys adventuring through the mountains here in beautiful Colorado. Dr. Balaguer provides services through his own practice that partners with Geriatric & Family Medicine.

Dr. Bass earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Denver College of Nursing, and a Master of Science in Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice from University of Colorado. She is board certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners in as an Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner. Dr. Bass has a background in cardio-thoracic surgery and transplant medicine. Her passion is to serve all people and provide equitable healthcare. In addition to her professional career, she is married to her husband and loves their two children and puppy. In her free time, she loves to travel, watch movies, and shop.

Amanda earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Austin State University and a Master of Science in Nursing from University of Nebraska Medical Center. She is Board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Prior to her current role, she practiced as a certified medical-surgical registered nurse for 9 years in surgical and critical care settings. In addition to her professional career, she is married to her husband, has two dogs, and enjoys hiking and crafts.

Dr. Chandler earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Georgia and Doctor of Psychology from University of Denver’s Professional School of Psychology. She has over 30 years of experience as a psychologist and considers it an honor to assist people with life challenges and to support their efforts to make change. Dr. Chandler provides services at Geriatric & Family Medicine on behalf of Jefferson Center.

Courtney Doerfler's Bio
Courtney was born and raised in the Chicagoland area. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Denver College of Nursing and a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) at the University of Colorado. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) at the University of Colorado. Her clinical background was in rehabilitation and oral surgery. Courtney enjoys running, painting, and testing her knowledge with her trivia team during her free time.

Peter earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Colorado Christian University and his Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Colorado. Peter is dual board-certified as an Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Peter’s diverse background spans Home Health, Long-Term Acute Care, and Allergy/Asthma, allowing him to offer a well-rounded approach to patient care. He also has a strong foundation in Business and Information Technology, which enhances his ability to stay at the forefront of healthcare innovations. With a particular focus in Functional Medicine, Peter is dedicated to uncovering the root causes of his patients’ health challenges and providing personalized care plans that promote long-term wellness. When he’s not caring for patients, Peter enjoys spending time outdoors, staying current with the latest technology trends, and giving back to the community through volunteer work.

Dr. Mulkey earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Pensacola Christian College, and Master of Science in Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice from University of South Alabama. She is board certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners as an Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner. Dr. Mulkey’s expertise is featured in leading nursing textbooks, with contributions focused on gerontological nursing and elder care. She is an international speaker, advocating for integrating mental health services in primary care. Dr. Mulkey was appointed by Governor Jared Polis to the Colorado Medical Services Board which oversees Colorado’s Medicaid program policies, rules, and regulations. In addition to her professional career, she is married and the proud mother of three children.
